The Full Scottish is delighted to welcome back Susan Egelstaff, who appeared on our fourth show. Susan is a London 2012 Olympian and 2 x Commonwealth Games medallist.

She is now a sports journalist writing for The Herald, The Sunday Herald and The National. She first represented Scotland in 2000 and went on to become the highest ranked female badminton athlete in the UK. and

 

 

Marianne Taylor

Marianne Taylor

Marianne is a freelance journalist, formerly BBC, Guardian, Die Welt. 

She now primarily write features, columns and leaders for the Herald, Sunday Herald and Evening Times.

According to her Twitter profile Marianne likes vocal harmonies, the Hebrides, tennis, deutsch, and railway stations. We’ll have to ask her about that!

 

 

Colin Fox

Brexit is still at the top of the news agenda so we’ll be having a chat with Colin Fox, national co-spokesperson of the Scottish Socialist Party and a former MSP for the Lothians. He said on Twitter:  “Am convinced the case for remaining in EU is terrible – its an anti-democratic bosses club,but ‘Brexit‘ is worse.”

We’ll find out more about why he doesn’t believe the EU is best for Scotland but why that is better than leaving completely.”

And how does that fit with the Scottish independence referendum and sovereignty?

Greg Russell is a journalist with The National. He’s been reporting on the sad story of the Brain family, Australians Gregg, Kathryn and their seven-year-old son Lachlan who have made their home in Scotland but are now facing deportation.

We’ll find out the most up-to-date news from Greg.

After last week’s thought-provoking conversation on the Full Scottish about the Named Person legislation, we decided to take a closer look at it and who better to ask than Martin Crewe from Barnardos?

Martin Crewe is Director of children’s charity Barnardo’s Scotland which works with more than 26,500 children, young people and their families across the country. Martin is also a Corporate Director with responsibilities for Barnardo’s operations across the UK.

He has been a member of the Scottish Government’s National Implementation Support Group co-ordinating the implementation of GIRFEC (Getting It Right For Every Child) and was Chair of the GIRFEC Programme Board prior to this.

Martin is currently a member of both the Scottish Government’s Ministerial Working Party on Child Sexual Exploitation and the Violence Against Women & Girls Joint Strategic Board.

Michael Gray of Common Space is on the Full Scottish to talk about his exclusive story, the Edward Snowden leaks have revealed a secret Scottish spy system.

James Michael Rodgers

We also have music from Saltcoats singer songwriter James Michael Rodgers.

James has been living in Berlin for almost a month, busking around, meeting musicians, playing some open mics and doing some gigs.

He’s home now with plans to release a new record. James will tell us more, as well as sing for us.
